Apple pulls iPads and iPhones in Germany
Motorola Mobility has forced Apple to pull its iPads and iPhones in its German online stores, following the firm enforcing a patent injunction against its rival.
This move comes after a December ruling that Apple had failed to license one of Motorola's wireless intellectual properties.
Motorola licenses the disputed patent to other companies on Frand (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) terms, however, Apple disagrees with the company in terms of how much it should pay to use it.
Apple said in a statement that it would be appealing the ruling because Motorola are asking for "unreasonable" amounts of money to use the technology.
The victorious firm added in its own statement: "We are pleased that the Mannheim court has recognized the importance of our intellectual property and granted an enforceable injunction in Germany against Apple Sales International."
Apple is also currently embroiled in a bitter dispute with Samsung over design patents, which has seen the firm try and ban the sale of Galaxy models in a number of different countries.
