Apple Must Run Samsung Did Not Copy IPad Ads

A UK judge has ordered Apple to run a number of adverts confirming that Samsung did not copy the design of its marquee tablet - the iPad.

Bloomberg news agency claims that the judge said at least one notice should remain on Apple's website for six months, while other ads should be run in a number of different publications.

This follows the US company's failed attempt to get sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablets blocked in the UK.

Judge Colin Birss last week found in favour of Samsung, stating that he had reached the decision based on the fact that Korean company's tablets "are not as cool" as those made by Apple.

The order to display these notices did not feature in the judge's published findings but Bloomberg say the matter was discussed following the verdict.

A statement after the ruling from Samsung said Apple's continued legal claims could stifle innovation in the industry.
