Apple iPad 2 may persuade many consumers to sell mobile for money
A huge number of mobile consumers could be preparing sell their mobile phones for money, if they believe the prediction made by one expert.
Dan Grabham, deputy editor of TechRadar.com, suggests Apple will release the long-awaited iPad 2 within a few weeks.
Indeed, he suggests the device will be of such high quality it will set a new benchmark that rival manufacturers will be forced to try and emulate in 2011.
Such a scenario may make this year the ideal time to trade-in a mobile in favour of a switch to a tablet model.
"The Blackberry Playbook looks pretty good and also the Motorola Xoom. I don't necessarily think they will topple the iPad in terms of numbers, but they could certainly all have a share," comments Mr Grabham.
Media reader shipments grew by 45.1 per cent in the third quarter of 2010, the latest figures from IDC show, with 90 per cent of the market made up by the original iPad.
