Apple files design suit against Samsung in Germany
Apple has filed a further design suit in Germany, seeking to ban the sales of Samsung Electronics' mobile phones including the Galaxy S Plus and the S II. This move extends the global dispute between the two companies.
The action targeting ten smartphone models was filed in the Dusseldorf Regional Court and is based on Apple's supposed design rights.
Court spokesman Peter Schuetz said by phone that Apple also started a separate suit against five Samsung tablet computers related to a September ruling that banned the Galaxy 10.1, Business Week reports.
A spokesman for Samsung in Seoul Nam Ki Yung reportedly confirmed the suits were filed and the company currently has no comment to make on the matter.
In October a ban in Australia was temporarily placed on the Galaxy 10.1 tablet, however this has since been overturned as the Federal Court of Australia found that Apple didn't have adequate strength in their arguments for the ban to last.
