Apple 'can't beat Samsung in China'
Despite the staggering sales of Apple's iPhones and iPads in recent times throughout the world, experts have claimed that the firm is not able to catch up with Samsung in the Chinese market.
Apple released the new iPad 3 last week and pre-orders in a plethora of countries have outstripped supplies leading to delays in the shipments of the device to consumers.
The iPhone currently accounts for 7.5 per cent of the burgeoning Chinese market, which is significantly lower than the 24.3 per cent of Samsung.
Samsung has three deals with China's 3G mobile networks, while Apple has just two - one of which is with the nation's smallest provider. The iPhone is not compatible with the country's largest mobile network China Mobile.
“I don’t expect Apple to replace Samsung any time soon. China Telecom is the nation’s smallest carrier, so the extent to which they can help Apple is quite limited,” Gartner analyst Sandy Shen said in an interview with Bloomberg.
