Android Jelly Bean has been launched
Google has announced that its Android Jelly Bean operating system will debut on the Asus-designed Nexus 7 tablet and will start rolling out to other Nexus devices and the Motorola Xoom next month.
The update details a number of significantly enhanced features such as a notifications system and security data for developers. There will also be Siri-like programming to try and compete with iOS.
Google also announced the Nexus tablet at the same time and as had been expected it has a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, GeForce 12-core GPU and 1GB of RAM.
Android chief Andy Rubin said in a blog post that Google Now will give people the right information at just the right time. He added that no stone is left unturned with this piece of software.
"Today's smart devices still rely on you to do pretty much everything - that is, until now," the expert continued.
