A new mobile could navigate consumers
Consumers could find their way around with a new mobile phone, if recent suggestions are anything to go by.
Selling an old handset for cash with Mazuma could allow people to upgrade to a new device with mapping and navigations services.
It may prove to be a better value for money option than purchasing a separate satellite navigation system.
"Because Google Maps Navigation is connected to the internet, it also features powerful functionality you can't get from other satnav services, including the most up to date map, business and traffic data," the Google Mobile Blog suggests.
Google Maps Navigation might be an application that is useful for those with Android 1.6 devices and higher with access to the internet.
Familiar features of satnav devices are available with Google Maps including turn-by-turn voice guidance, 3D views and automatic rerouting.
People using Nokia handsets may wish to download Ovi Maps for free from the Ovi Store.
