Use cash from recycling an old mobile to access Google Buzz

01/06/2010

Phone owners who recycle an old mobile with Mazuma could put the money gained towards a handset that supports Google Buzz.

Alex Kennberg, Google Mobile's software engineer, explains the instant messenger service is now available on a wider range of devices than ever before.

Since its release in February, the feature has only been accessible to iPhone owners and those with a handset running at least Android 2.0.

Now, writing for the Google Mobile Blog, Mr Kennberg tells how people with other mobile phones will be able to start instant conversations with friends using the technology.

Among the models that can now be used to support Google Buzz are Nokia S60 and BlackBerry devices.

Consumers only need to type buzz.google.com into the browser on their mobile phone in order to access the service.

Google recently launched a new and improved version of its Google Maps feature for mobile users that may have triggered a rise in recycling old models.
