Sony Ericsson launches green handset
Consumers have been provided with a phone upgrade option which could help them play their part in protecting the environment.
The Sony Ericcson Aspen is an environmentally-friendly Windows Mobile smartphone which is part of an ongoing GreenHeart scheme by the company to explore green technology.
Recycled plastics, waterborne paints and an optimised display light sensor that utilises less energy are just some of the green features of the device.
The phone also has a 2.4-inch touch screen display, built-in QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, high-speed HSDPA Internet and Bluetooth.
"The Sony Ericsson Aspen is the business phone with a conscience," said Quentin Cordier, Sony Ericsson's global marketing manager.
He added the mobile has a "rich user interface and powerful productivity tools", thanks to the latest version of Windows Mobile.
To date, the mobile manufacturer has released four GreenHeart phones - the Elm, Hazel, C901 and Naite.
