Simplicity 'the key' to mobile phone recycling
The key to a successful mobile phone recycling campaign is simplicity, it has been argued.
In an article on the Nokia Conversations website, it was suggested that specialist campaigns are still needed to persuade people to recycle mobilephones and make everyone aware of its benefits.
"Simplicity, prominence and authority form the basic principles, now we need to unearth the myriad schemes that'll help drive the message home," the piece read.
The author of the article wrote about mobile phone recycling in September last year and quoted figures from an interview between Nellie Abdullah of Nokia Malaysia and ZDNet to demonstrate the large-scale impact that recycling could have on the environment.
Ms Abdullah reportedly claimed that if the world's three billion mobile phone users chose to recycle their handsets, it would be the equivalent of having four million less cars on the road.
