Online Video Promotes Electrical Recycling Tarantino Style

A new online video has been launched that aims to encourage mobile phone recycling.

The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has made the film Bin vs Printer available for the world to see on the YouTube website in a bid to highlight the need for such environmentally-friendly facilities.

It is hoped the clip will encourage people to more closely adhere to the rules regarding the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - or WEEE - initiative, which covers the recycling of phones, computer equipment and other electricals.

"The minute-long animation recreates a Tarantino-esque duel between an obsolete printer and a wheelie bin. The aim of the film is to remind people not just to bin their waste electrical goods, but instead to recycle them," Wrap said.

Established in 2002, the WEEE rules became European law in February 2003 alongside the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive.
