Old Mobile Phones Can Help Hospice Fund

Sending old mobile phones away for recycling can help Bury Hospice raise the money it needs to relocate to a new facility.

It has set a target of £2.5 million to help in move to a site on Rochdale Old Road and is asking businesses to contribute by carrying out mobile recycling, according to This is Lancashire.

Firms that help out by supplying their old mobile phones will receive a certificate stating how much money they contributed to the fund and will also be given the opportunity to use the donation for publicity purposes.

Karen Fyles, fundraising support manager for the hospice, was quoted by the news agency as saying moving to the new site will help it increase its capacity.

"We serve a community in excess of 180,000 people from Bury and its six towns and all the care is provided free of charge," she remarked.

Andy Betts, of Smartphone Daily, recently stated a growing number of enterprises are opting to give their workers Apple iPhones, meaning they could have a number of older handsets that can be put to good use.
