O2 set to boost UK charity
O2 has announced details of a new charity event aimed at helping children in the West Yorkshire region.
The network claims a number of young people in South Leeds will soon benefit from a fund-raising effort it has backed in aid of the St Luke's Cares charity.
Having set a target of £15,000, the 2,700 staff involved have now doubled this, as part of its bid to supply the local mobile youth service with a new bus, allowing them to take part in a range of activities.
The transport will also help people in the region get to the community care site on Beeston Road.
Chair of the project Mark Nichols said: "Our volunteers have been tireless in their efforts to raise as much money as possible. They have done everything from hand making cards to sell at Christmas to jumping out of aeroplanes."
For those looking to raise cash a little easier, recycling mobile phones could be the answer. A drive to trade in used mobiles could generate enough money to help boost your own charitable event.
