Nokia 5800 users to get new networking app
31/07/2009
Consumers trading in used mobiles to get their hands on a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic may be pleased to hear about a new application the device will support.
As one of the Finnish manufacturer's flagship models - which is also its first to come with a full touchscreen - the phone is already in demand, but with access to a new networking widget, this could increase even further.
Nokia users were told this week that a visit to the firm's online Ovi Store could allow them to furnish their handset with ShoZu - a system described by its creators as "an intelligent social media hub".
The award-winning option will now be available to "millions" of people with devices like the Nokia 5800, N86 and N97, giving them a global interactivity platform that they can use "with just one click".
Chris Wade, chairman and chief executive officer of ShoZu, said: "Our goal is to make it as convenient as possible for consumers to find and pay for our apps. Leveraging the OVI Store is part of that strategy."
