Nokia 3110 firm is 'the world's most sustainable'
With handsets like the Nokia 3110 on the market, there are a number of options for those looking to sell mobilephones for a greener option.
However, these consumers may be further buoyed this week as it emerged that the Finnish manufacturer behind the device had been singled out for praise due to its status as an eco-friendly gadget supplier.
Nokia was named as the world's most sustainable technology company in an annual survey released by Dow Jones.
In addition, the publication selected the company - which also boasts models like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, E71 and N97 among its range - as the World Technology Supersector Leader.
Rick Simonson, executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Nokia, said the group was "committed to action in this area because acting responsibly is not only the right thing to do - it is also undoubtedly the best thing for our business."
According top the handset maker it has boosted its energy-efficiency of late, as well as reducing the amount of packaging materials it uses.
The Nokia 3110 Evolve is made from 80 per cent built recyclable materials.
