Mobile Recycling Needs To Be Done Sooner Rather Than Later

People looking to sell mobilephones should not waste any time in doing so, it has been advised.

According to Mazuma Mobile, a company specialising in finding new homes for unwanted handsets, when a new device is purchased people need to trade in their old models quickly.

Charlo Carabott, a spokesperson for the group, explained with the speed at which new technology is launched and adopted by the pubic, it is essential for recycling to be a natural next step when an upgrade is made.

"This will maximise the cash value received, extend the reuse life of the phones and prevent the old phones from becoming an environmental problem," he added.

Mr Carabott went on to say that handsets tend to depreciate rapidly as UK consumers are "often on the lookout" for new features and fashion trends in mobile technology.

The Waste & Resources Action Programme recently revealed its plans to help tackle environmental waste with a series of options that focus on how materials are efficiently utilised.
