Mobile recycling forms part of Motorola green commitment
Mobile recycling is just one of the green initiatives Motorola has committed itself to in a recent announcement.
The manufacturer published its latest Corporate Responsibility Report this week and took the opportunity to reaffirm its intentions to engage in a range of carbon reduction initiatives.
In addition to supporting mobile recycling programmes, Motorola said it would continue to develop greener technologies such as the MOTO W233 Renew handset.
The device is the first of its kind to be fully certified by CarbonFree and is made using reused plastic water tank bottles.
Commenting on the report, Motorola co-chief executive Sanjay Jha said this eco-friendly approach has also been applied to its other technologies.
"Our newly designed mobile device chargers, for example, use 0.10 watts or less of standby power - reducing wasted energy," he explained.
The company recently launched its latest phone - the Aura - using David Beckham in the device's promotional material.
