First rumoured pics leak of rumoured HTC One Mini 2
Rumours have been rife in recent weeks that HTC is working on a successor to its pared down HTC One Mini device from last year, and although it has yet to make an official announcement about the latest release, pictures have now leaked, alleging to show the HTC One Mini 2, the successor.
If rumours are to be believed, HTC has been busy this spring, with various leaks claiming that it is working on a version of the HTC One M8 with a plastic rather than aluminium chassis as well as developing a smaller version of this particular flagship.
However, Twitter tipster @evleaks - a normally very reliable source - has published pictures which it claims is the first of the HTC One Mini 2.
It is not clear whether this is a separate phone from the HTC One M8 Mini that the leaker previously rumoured, but it has claimed previously that there is a chance that HTC may opt to drop the M8 part of the name when it comes to developing the pared back version of its flagship smartphone.
The pictures are the first clear indicator of the appearance of a new device, and come after previous reported shots, which showed the phone in a case that made it hard to tell what it was.
The new images show a phone that looks very like the HTC One M8, albeit a bit smaller, and it shows that the device will come in a range of different colours, including black, silver, gold and white.
Differences between this phone and the latest HTC flagship are expected to include the fact it will have a 14 megapixel camera rather than the four ultrapixel version that comes on the HTC One M8.
Other rumours about specifications have been thin on the ground until now, but it is likely that the phone will come packing a quadcore snapdragon processor and other features comparable to phones it will be competing with including the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
