Expert Calls For More Emphasis On Electrical Recycling

Consumers recycling mobile phones may find themselves in agreement with the comments of one expert.

In an article for Australian news resource ABC, Piers Verstegen of the Boomerang Alliance explained that although many are good about making sure household waste is properly dealt with, they are not correctly disposing of electrical items.

Speaking on behalf of the environmental group, he suggested that most of the general public are aware the number of mobile phones and other products going to landfill adds up to a "serious waste problem".

However, he added that recycling was "one of the best ways to reduce carbon emissions", as well as boost the amount of investment that goes into creating more eco-friendly job opportunities.

Of course, one way that people can do their bit for the planet is to make sure their unwanted handsets are not sent to the dump - something that can be avoided by selling mobile phones to Mazuma for cash.
