Businesses Told That Being Green Can Save Them Money

Companies have been told that by following environmentally friendly strategies they can save themselves money.

Erica Russell, an adviser at Business Link, stated that large savings can be made by firms taking the green route, regardless of their size.

There is also lots of help available for companies seeking to embark on a more eco-conscious approach to business, she said.

"As the Carbon Trust have been promoting this week, a huge amount of it is around the money businesses could save," she said of the benefits of going green.

Ms Russell referred to a manufacturing company her organisation had worked with that saved £6,000 through a switch-off campaign and a pub that reduced energy bills by 17 per cent after having an audit.

The average business could save £7,000 by improving energy efficiency, according to Startups.

Companies can be greener and save money at the same time by recycling mobile phones for cash online.
