Overseas mobile data rates drop for UK customers
UK customers on the T-Mobile network who take their mobile phones abroad could see their bills fall significantly after the company announced it would slash its data prices.
The firm has introduced a new tariff for customers who specifically want to use their smartphones overseas to access the internet.
Costs are already set to fall on the continent as of July 1st thanks to an EU ruling and T-Mobile is taking a proactive step to stay ahead of its main rivals.
The ruling came after concerns were raised over the cost of using mobile data networks on the continent.
T-Mobile will charge its customers just 33p per MB of data used abroad.
However, there are bulk-buying data options available on other networks that can cut the cost even further for mobile phone owners who regularly use the internet.
Commenting on the tariff changes, Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at uSwitch said: "With the new EU regulations coming into force at the start of July, it is encouraging to see that providers are taking the lead."
