Orange expects 'blockbuster' week
Mobile phone network Orange says its two-for-one cinema deal combined with anticipated movie releases will mean this week is a "bumper" one for the box office.
Orange Wednesdays, which enables customers to receive a free film pass, has saved people some £30 million in the past five years and has been used 14 million times.
The company thinks movies such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Star Trek, as well as upcoming titles such as Angels & Demons, will mean more seats being filled at the cinema in the next few weeks.
"Orange customers are set for fantastic savings," it claims.
In addition to receiving free tickets, the deal has recently been extended to include meals at Pizza Express.
Approximately 85,000 customers have taken advantage of this deal since its launch in February - this equates to 170,000 pizzas and 1.36 million doughballs.
Other movies due out in the next month include Drag Me to Hell, Obsessed, Fighting and Synecdoche, New York.
