O2 Comments On Apple IPhone 3G Move

Following the announcement the Apple iPhone 3G would no longer be a network exclusive, O2 has commented on its relationship with the manufacturer.

Those looking to sell mobilephones to buy one of the devices may wish to hold on until Orange announces its tariff details for the gadget - after it was revealed the firm would be the second carrier to support it in the UK.

However, O2 said in a post on its official blog page that the relationship between itself and Apple was undamaged by the move and the operator used the opportunity to divert attention towards its more recent catalogue acquisition.

It stated the one million-plus iPhone customers it now has "remain very important", but added the Palm Pre would help the company remain "the home of smartphones".

"We also offer award-winning customer service and benefits, which is why more people choose O2 than any other network in the UK," O2 concluded.

Orange announced on revealed on Monday (September 28th) it had entered a deal with apple to supply the iPhone to users across the UK.
