Mobile phones give social networking a boost
Social networking fans may wish to sell an old mobile phone with Mazuma and purchase a new handset with mobile internet.
Consumers could use the money they receive for their old device and put it towards a new smartphone with access to the internet.
Social networking currently takes up more than half the time spent on mobile internet by users, recent findings from mobile measure firm Ground Truth suggest.
It was also suggested that users of mobile-specific social networking sites are more engaged than those solely utilising PC-based networks.
Daniel Chubb, chief executive officer at Dansway Communications and Online Social Media, stated that new mobiles and apps will help social networking increase in popularity even more.
He said: "Smartphones will bring billions of impressions that the desktop computer cannot. The boost is coming to take things to a whole new level."
Facebook is the most popular social networking site attracting 51 per cent of web users, according to InSites Consulting .
