Cheap technology 'is making mobile working easier'
The latest mobile phones and related technologies are making it easier and cheaper than ever to work away from the office, it has been advised.
According to a spokesman for global enterprise group Aastra Technologies, employers are coming to realise that there are a number of benefits to being able to provide their staff with a more flexible approach to their role.
Mike Ballantine, business development manager of the Canada-based company, said there was now no shortage of wireless options that provide a reliable and low-cost way to help people work from anywhere.
"There are various methods of getting that connectivity," he explained. "There's lots of technology out there now which makes it much, much easier to deploy a sensible and cost-effective solution for people."
Mr Ballantine's comments follow recent research from the firm that suggested remote working could play a vital role in company contingency plans as well as boosting levels of staff retention.
