Apple iPhone 3G S users get Twitter access
28/07/2009
The network that carries the Apple iPhone 3G S exclusively in the UK has unveiled its latest social networking offering.
According to O2, customers can now enjoy access to micro blogging website Twitter as part of a new package - which it has launched a little earlier than intended.
Users of the company's range of mobile phones - which also includes the Sony Ericsson W995 and Samsung Tocco Lite - can receive their followers' updates by text for free.
However, the group is operating a fair usage policy - asking that people try not to exceed a 600 monthly limit on the SMS tweet notifications.
In addition, O2 customers will be able to update their own status for the price of a regular text message.
The network recently announced a mobile broadband "amnesty" to encourage people to trade in old dongles for a new, free O2 Pay & Go replacement.
