Tesco Mobile offers 4G for free
It can be tough for smaller mobile phone firms to compete with giants like Samsung and Apple. However, Tesco Mobile looks set to be an attractive deal from the end of January.
From tomorrow (January 30th) the supermarket-based network will give its customers access to 4G for no charge. Up until now, Tesco had charged £2.50 for using its super-fast service but this will be abolished by the end of the month.
For those that have been paying the premium, they will get the money back on each of their monthly bills. At the moment, only monthly and SIM only customers will be able to benefit from the change but it could include those on pay as you go in the future.
Simon Groves, chief marketing officer, said, "As a network we hope that this move will challenge others in the market and encourage the industry to follow suit.
"We want to see 4G with no extra cost become the norm and networks making the very latest technologies accessible for all."
