Samsung still leading the smartphone world
Samsung has dominated the smartphone arena in many leading markets around the world, causing many people to trade in their phones to be able to afford the eye-watering prices of its flagships. However, although its high-end devices have pushed the realms of smartphone capabilities to the edge, the pint-sized versions have left some people feeling cheated.
When the Korean manufacturing giant released the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, many fans were disappointed that it brought a fairly mediocre spec sheet when compared to the flagship. However, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini could be everything you have been hoping for if a new leak is anything to go by.
The folks over at Sam Mobile have picked up a details about the upcoming smartphone. According to the website's sources, Samsung's Galaxy S5 Mini will sport an impressive 4.5-inch 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
For the trigger happy, there is also a decent eight-megapixel camera on the rear and two-megapixel option on the front. The expected handset will also run Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat - unsurprisingly.
However, if that isn't enough to whet your appetite, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will also take the dust and water resistant body from the flagship.
Although this bring all the features from the Samsung Galaxy S5, these stats are far more impressive than scaled-down versions we have seen in the past. Smartphone fans will also be pleased that the display is boosted from the disappointing 960 x 540 featured on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
As of yet, Samsung has said almost nothing about the arrival of a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, indicating that all smartphone fans should be sceptical of the rumours until the company confirms something.
Previous rumours expect the pint-sized Samsung flagship to arrive during April or May so it shouldn't be too much longer until the firm make an official announcement.
