Trading-in mobile phone could secure funds for tablet switch
People who trade-in a mobile phone in order to find the cash to join the tablet revolution may require less than they thought in order to buy a BlackBerry PlayBook.
Asavin Wattanajantra, writing an article for CNET UK, explains he expected the device to be "prohibitively expensive" prior to its launch.
However, he goes on to note he has now heard it will end up being cheaper than its main competitor, the Apple iPhone.
"The BlackBerry PlayBook needs to be competitively priced, because the steady stream of tablets we're starting to see now is bound to turn into a torrent by next year," the author states.
And the indications are that it will be, which raises the possibility of people trading-in their old mobile in order to at least part-fund their purchase of the tablet.
BlackBerry says its PlayBook offers users "groundbreaking" speed, top communications and limitless access to the internet.
