Trade-in mobile in 2011 for latest augmented reality
One of the key trends of phones in 2011 – augmented reality – could be available to those who choose to trade-in a mobile, predicts an expert.
Ian, writing the latest blog post for Nokia Conversations, forecasts the technology will provide one of the major changes over the next 12 months.
"Mobile visual search has definitely come of age, applications that allow you to point your phone's camera at barcodes to get price comparison data are everywhere," he states.
The next stage will include the ability to search on actual objects – including everything from cars to buildings – and "get a result", Ian asserts.
In the case of a car, this could result in people being able to use a mobile to find out MOT, tax, sale and mileage details at the click of a button.
Another expected release in 2011 is the universal charge, which should be able to power all new phones, no matter what their make or model.
