Trade-in mobile and switch to Android for improved email service
People who trade-in a mobile phone and upgrade to a new Android device will be able to take advantage of an updated Gmail service.
Paul Westbrook, of the Gmail for Android team, writes in the latest Google Mobile Blog that the search engine launched the tool in September with the promise of rapid improvements to come.
It has now delivered the first of these, resulting in the creation of the new Gmail for Android 2.3.2 being launched.
One of the major changes - compared with the original version - is the introduction of a Priority Inbox, allowing all of the most important messages to be displayed in a separate folder.
Developers have also adopted a number of the features the desktop Gmail, particularly when it comes to composing a message, which is now said by Mr Westbrook to be easier than ever.
A recent post on the same blog revealed Google has launched upgrades to its YouTube provision for mobile customers.
