The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 on sale before announcement
In an unusual turn of events, Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 2 has gone on sale...before it has even been announced.
Those who were perhaps expecting an elaborate announcement at next month’s IFA trade show may be disappointed to hear that there are shops in Malaysia and Thailand that are already selling the device.
So, given that there can’t really be any more rumours about the smartphone, Thai website Droid Sans has released a preview of the Galaxy Mega 2. It features a 6.0 inch, 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display and a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4415 processor.
This particular Thai version of the handset has an 8MP camera, with an included HDR mode. However, there have been rumours circulating that the smartphone will actually come with a larger 12MP camera, so whether or not Samsung change the camera before it hits shelves in the UK remains to be seen.
With regards to memory, the Galaxy Mega 2 has 1.5GB of Random Access Memory (RAM), which may not be enough for some users who expect more from a smartphone.
Visually, the Galaxy Mega 2 is actually quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, mainly due to the fact that the back is made of a faux-leather material. There’s no denying that aesthetically, the Galaxy Mega 2 is a smart looking device.
While it is almost certain that this is what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, there is always the chance that changes could be made until it is officially confirmed for the European market.
