Sony Xperia Z3 working model images leaked
Sony may put out more flagship handsets than any other company in the tech world - its three Xperia Z variants in the last 9 months are testament to that - but this has not dampened the excitement for the newest of these since details were first leaked almost two weeks ago.
Since images first emerged online of the reported Sony Xperia Z3 (along with the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact), rumours have been rife about when we could expect to see the device hit shelves and what it could be packing as an upgrade from the Xperia Z2, which only emerged in April.
And now it seems that we may have got our first glance at the working version of the Sony Xperia Z3, with Chinese social media site Weibo being filled with excited messages following the release of some leaked images purporting to be the Z3.
The pictures that appeared on the site clearly carry the model number L55t, which pretty much confirms that the handset is the next generation of Sony flagship devices, considering that its predecessor, the Z2, carried the model number L50t. The images also appear to show it running the newest version of Google's operating system, Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
So what else have we seen on the leaked images? According to those sending them out, the device is powered by a quad-core, 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974PRO-AC processor alongside Adreno 330 graphics.
And it will continue its bid to be one of the best smartphone cameras on the market as well, with the handset allegedly packing the same 20.7MP Exmor Optics camera that we saw on both the Z2 and 2013's Sony Xperia Z1.
Sony is expected to lift the lid for real at the upcoming IFA conference - a favourite event for the company's big reveals - and it is thought that the Japanese firm will be trying to challenge Apple, with the new phone likely to land at a similar time to the Apple iPhone 6 in late September.
