Sony Xperia SP available for pre-order in UK
Sony has made its new cheaper mobile phone available for pre-order at Phones 4U in the UK.
The mid-range Sony Xperia SP has already been released in India and is expected to be shipped to the high street retailer on May 3rd.
It is a more affordable version of the Sony Xperia Z, with specifications that were unveiled last month. The device carries a 4.6-inch screen, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, eight mega-pixel camera and is 4G-enabled.
Although the handset has been available sim-free since last month, Phones 4U are the first to offer it on a monthly contract.
At the high-end of the market, EE will offer 500 MB of 4G data for £31 a month and the handset for free. If customers want to up their data allowance to 8 GB it will cost £56 every month.
Orange offer a price of £28.50 a month, which gets users 1 GB of data, 600 minutes, unlimited texts and the handset.
Vodafone have a contract at £25 a month, providing customers with 300 minutes, 250 MB, unlimited texts and a free phone.
O2 and Three are also supposed to be offering the device, but their proposed plans aren't available yet.
