Sony Ericsson to launch Idou smartphone
A leading mobile phone firm has announced the launch of its latest device.
Sony Ericsson revealed it is set to produce its Idou smartphone as one of several large-scale projects for 2009.
The company claims it is fusing entertainment and communications with its latest batch of ventures, which come under the Entertainment Unlimited brand.
At the forthcoming Mobile World Congress event, Sony Ericsson will show its smartphone and the W995 Walkman handset.
The firm claims the Idou device "encapsulates the future of mobile entertainment in the palm of your hand".
Among the features set to be bundled with the handset are a 12.1 megapixel camera, full-touch media menu and the Symbian Foundation operating system.
Dick Komiyama, president of the group, said, "Entertainment Unlimited is at the core of Sony Ericsson's philosophy, building on the strength of our great entertainment assets such as Walkman and Cyber-shot phones and our unique service and applications integration."
Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson claims its latest Walkman W995 handset "brings together the very best music experiences of any phone".
