Samsung S5600 becomes first Welsh mobile
The Samsung S5600 is to become the world's first mobile phone that is fully available in Welsh, it has emerged.
Orange announced this week that it will be launching a version of the device in the UK on September 1st, equipped with integrated software that converts the whole menu system into the language.
In addition, consumers recycling mobile phones to buy the handset will notice that it also features Welsh predictive text.
Sian Doyle, head of retail at the network, said it was important for Orange to engage with its users in the country and this was just one way to do so.
"We hope that new initiatives like this and the opening of our first community concept store in Monmouth will ensure that Orange becomes the best-loved telecommunications company in Wales," she explained.
The Samsung S5600 will be available on the carrier's latest contracts as well as pay-as-you-go.
