Samsung Galaxy S sales surpass 100m
More than 100 million Samsung Galaxy S mobile phones have been sold around the world, with the latest S3 handset contributing 40 per cent of this figure.
The South Korean manufacturer claims that its handset range delivers "a premium user experience with a design that is elegant and feels natural".
Its third-generation device was released in May, and established itself as a dominant force on the market after achieving impressive sales and scooping numerous technology industry awards.
The high-end gadget sports impressive specifications, including a 4.8-inch HD screen, quad-core processor and eight-megapixel camera.
Owners are also provided with the latest technologies, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) which provides 4G network connectivity.
Near Field Communication (NFC) allows users to wirelessly send payments to in-store terminals and share contact information easily with friends.
Despite fierce competition from the Apple iPhone 5 since September and rivalry from the Google Nexus 4 as of November, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has topped the uSwitch mobile phone popularity chart for eight consecutive months.
