Recycle mobile to join Android app revolution
Consumers who choose to recycle a mobile phone at the current time and switch to an Android device will be joining an operating system that offers a thriving app download platform.
The official Google Mobile Blog, written by Eric Chu, director of the Android Developer System, has confirmed there have now been ten billion downloads made by users of the system.
To celebrate, Android is putting a set of brand new apps on sale each day for the next ten days at the price of ten cents (64 pence).
Mr Chu noted growth of the Android apps market is now in the region of one billion tools per month, a figure he described as "simply amazing".
He went on to reveal that bosses of the operating system are eagerly anticipating further growth in 2012 – something consumers who recycle mobiles now could be a part of.
Vodafone recently released its new Vodafone Guardian app specially for Android users, giving parents a way to protect the content their children view via their handset.
