Nokia, BlackBerry and Sony Ericsson make top mobile upgrade list
Those looking to recycle old mobilephones may be interested to hear one expert's three smartphone picks "for your next upgrade".
Thomas Newston of Mobile-phones.co.uk highlighted the Sony Ericsson W705, the Nokia 6260 Slide and the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in his column for Manchester Evening News supplement ShortList, claiming each handset offers great features to consumers depending on what they want from their phone.
For people seeking "supremely fast email", the BlackBerry Curve is the best bet, Mr Newston suggested, claiming that it is also the finest BlackBerry to date from a typing and display point of view.
Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson W705 is the "best mobile-audio device that has ever been made", making it ideal for those who want great music from their handset.
The Nokia 6260 Slide is the most expensive model at £500 but has plenty going for it, he said.
"If you want to have some nifty features, but don't want your phone to be an indecipherable supercomputer, this is perfect," Mr Newston remarked.
The Nokia 6260 was released in November last year and features the latest 3G technology, GPS and a five megapixel Carl Zeiss camera.
