Nokia-Android phone still a possibility
A Nokia-Android mobile phone has been the topic of a number of rumours for the past few months with many speculating that the Normandy handset would become a reality.
However, when Microsoft started proceedings to take over the Finnish firm's devices department, it seemed unlikely that the Windows giant would opt for a rival operating system rather than its own Windows Phone 8 software.
Due to this, more recent reports said that Nokia had abandoned the idea but now a new tweet has reignited the Normandy rumours.
Serial leaker @evleaks tweeted that "the reports of Normandy's death have been greatly exaggerated".
There was no more information with the posting, least of all where he had gathered his insider information from, meaning that it should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt, but the tipster generally has a good record.
It would be an unusual move since Microsoft is shamelessly trying to push its own software. Reports even speculated that the company had approached Sony to try and increase its share of the market.
