Nokia 5800 XpressMusic 'clamoured for' by consumers
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is clearly creating a buzz within the mobile phone industry, one Nokia spokesman has suggested.
Ian Laing, vice-president of sales for North America, claimed that sales figures of more than one million for the handset worldwide demonstrate that it is "a device that consumers are clamoring for".
He implied that the reason for this is that the phone offers customers exactly what they want - "a great music experience [that] still works really well as a mobile phone, without sacrificing features".
The comments came as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic became available in the US market.
Designed to cater for music lovers, it features surround-sound stereo speakers and contains enough memory for 6,000 songs. Nokia claims that the phone supports all major music file formats.
