Mobile technology 'helps firms be flexible'
Businesses will look to mobile phone technology in the coming years as a tool to help them become more flexible, according to a new report from O2.
The mobile phone network published the research, compiled by The Future Laboratory, which indicated that mobiles, social networking and more sophisticated office technology will all become increasingly important to business users.
A total of 65 per cent of UK firms identified mobile phones as one of the "major opportunity areas" available to them.
Ben Dowd, business sales director at O2, commented that it is "really exciting" to observe how technology is being embraced by large firms.
Companies participating in the study also highlighted that mobile phones and other technological advances can help them achieve greater transparency.
Business users who are looking to upgrade to a smartphone may wish to recycle their used handsets for cash.
Offers announced by O2 in February include tariffs for regular mobiles as well as smartphones - including Apple's iPhone.
