LG Optimus 2X mobile phone release date put back
Those who are planning to trade in their old mobile phone in order to pick up the latest Optimus 2X handset from LG may have to wait a while longer to get their hands on the new model.
PC advisor reports that UK-based retail websites that had been promising a February 21st release date for the Korean firm's new flagship device have now put the launch back by almost a month to March 18th.
The phone, which will be available on contract from Vodafone, comes with a dual-core processor and runs the Android operating system.
It features 8GB of internal memory, can shoot full HD and has a four-inch WVGA touchscreen, specifications that indicate LG is attempting to challenge handsets from Apple and HTC at the high end of the smartphone market.
The latter company is due to release two more models - the HTC 7 Pro and HTC Gratia - soon, with the former being the first Windows Phone 7-powered handset to come with a full keyboard to be released in the UK.
