Consumers may have to trade in mobiles to keep up with retail revolution
The internet has a good chance of becoming the UK's premier retail hub – and those who wish to keep up may find they have to trade in their mobile and switch to a device with hi-tech web browsing facilities.
Jonathan Bowers, communications director at UKFast, explains the rollout of super-fast broadband will have a significant impact on online shopping.
Indeed, the internet may even become the biggest platform on which to complete purchases, ahead of even in-store buying.
"A combination of super-fast broadband and speed of delivery from businesses is definitely going to make a big difference," states Mr Bowers.
However, those who want to take advantage of the practice while on the go may have to invest in a top-quality handset.
Virgin Media recently announced some 4.8 million people are now using its cable broadband technology, perhaps emphasising the popularity of the latest internet services in and out of the home.
