Consumers could wish to sell an old mobile to get the HTC Desire
Selling an old mobile phone could provide consumers with cash to put towards the purchase a HTC Desire, which has been unveiled by Orange.
The handset uses an Android operating system and is set to made available to customers in the UK from April, the network has revealed.
A 1-Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor should ensure that users experience speedy transitions to services on the phone - including Orange TV, games, Orange Maps, and Orange Windows Live - which can be easily accessed from the homescreen.
Selected pay monthly plans will allow those who want the device to receive it for free, although exact details are yet to be revealed.
"We're really pleased to be working with HTC to bring the latest Android 2.1 device to market. The Desire is a truly powerful handset which will allow consumers to get to grips with all the things they love about the internet," said Francois Mahieu, director of devices for Orange UK.
Orange recently revealed that it plans to trial high-definition calls in the UK.
