BlackBerry still 'growing', says RIM chief
Research In Motion (RIM) chief executive Thorsten Heins claims that BlackBerry is still growing and that it is "not in a trough".
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Mr Heins claims that it had to move on from the BlackBerry OS7 as it wasn't able to move into a "full mobile computing" industry.
Despite not having the massive resources of Microsoft, Heins is confident that many people will be surprised with the new operating system when it is released in Q1.
There have been reports over the past few months suggesting that RIM is looking to sell BlackBerry but Heins seemed to refute this, stating it is "very secure".
Mr Heins claimed this new operating system is a "once in a decade" change that will see the company move forward for the foreseeable future.
“If you look at the platform it’s still growing, if you look at the devices we’ve got a single phone that’s sold 45 million units,” he told the news provider.
