BlackBerry 10 backed by EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone
Some of the leading British telecommunications networks have confirmed that they will stock BlackBerry 10 (BB10) mobile phones when they are released early next year.
EE, the only provider to currently offer a high-speed 4G network, O2, Three and Vodafone have all announced that they will back new Research in Motion (RIM) products.
BlackBerry handsets were once extremely popular for their unique QWERTY keyboard and suitability for business use, but this has declined as Apple and Samsung began to dominate the market.
For the first time, RIM will unveil a full touch-screen device, which should go on sale shortly after BB10 is launched on January 30th.
The virtual keypad will apparently retain the iconic look of the physical version, and developers have included functions which should help users to type more accurately and quickly.
More than a hundred enterprise and business customers are currently testing the handsets, indicating that the manufacturer still wants to target this market.
