Asus could come first to sport Android Jelly Bean
Technology provider Asus is hoping its close partnership with Google will lead it to be the first company to offer devices running on the firm's latest operating system the Android Jelly Bean - version 5.0.
It was the first company to provide tablets running Honeycomb and the first major supplier to push the Ice Cream Sandwich update to its tablets.
"Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update," Asus' corporate vice president Benson Lin told TechRadar.
LG also recently suggested it would be upgrading its handset range to Jelly Bean once it becomes available, though it remains to be seen which manufacturer is the first to use the system.
Not content with the introduction of the Android Jelly Bean, a source recently told the news provider that the successor to the version 5.0 operating system will be the Key Lime Pie.
