Apple 'updates iOS'
Apple has reportedly released an update to its iOS mobile phone operating system, which is version 5.1.1.
It claims to remove some of the current operating system's bugs and improves the reliability of some of the options.
Released yesterday (May 7th), the update is for the iPhone 3GS and later versions of the mobile phone, as well as the iPads.
Two of the main items of concern for Apple users - wireless connectivity and battery life - have not been improved upon, The Register reports.
The new iPad has received criticism from some quarters about its battery life with a recent report from research firm DisplayMate suggesting that it is not necessarily 100 per cent charged even when it shows such a reading.
One of the key improvements made, Apple noted, was an increased reliability when using the HDR option for photos taken when using the Lock Screen shortcut.
