Apple unveils iOS 7 at WWDC
Yesterday (June 10th) Apple took to the stage at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to show off its brand-new operating system for mobile phones.
People have been eager to see what chief designer Sir Jony Ive had planned for the first operating system that Steve Jobs has had nothing to do with. The release of iOS 7 was delayed to give the top designer and his team the time to create something beautiful and at last it's here.
Chief executive at Apple Tim Cook has dubbed the new software "the biggest change to iOS since the iPhone" which indicates the significance of this particular update for the firm.
The new iOS 7 will certainly take a little getting used to, especially for die-hard Apple followers, as the design team has completely overhauled the style of the software to present a much more simplified look.
As well as changing the icons, there has also been significant alterations to other elements such as more transparent apps so you can see what's going on behind.
A change is exactly what Apple needed, but whether it was in the right direction, well we'll just have to wait and see.
